Dinner is the night if you do it right. The show is two hours. The parking, the plate, the drink within walking distance — that is the rest of your evening, and I have ruined more than one by skipping it.
Stubb's: you eat on the patio or you eat after and fight everybody who had the same idea. I have done both. The patio is the move if doors are later than your hunger. I learned that standing in a merch line with a rumble.
Bayou Music Center in Houston: there is food. There is a drink. The city does not make you choose between eating and making doors. I have sat somewhere close and still walked in on time. That is a Houston talent.
South Side in Dallas is the parking first. Then whatever is still open on the block. I have eaten a meal I did not taste because I was watching the clock. I have also been early on purpose and felt like I had my life together for forty minutes.
I used to roll up at doors and call it efficiency. It was just me skipping dinner. The pregame is the night. The set is why you came.
