DreamCon 2025 is Houston. RDCWorld built a con that centers Black people who like anime, games, comics — the rooms that used to make somebody the only one. Last year in Austin felt like a reunion plus a sneaker show plus a Twitch stream. Houston is bigger. More floor.
Megan Thee Stallion is on it. That is not a diversity slide. That is the city the con moved to.
Nobody needs a think piece about belonging. Fandom rooms that made people shrink already wrote that piece. This is the opposite: cosplay, slang, taking up space.
If a Houston weekend was waiting on nerd stuff that looks like the people in line, this is the weekend.
Austin was the proof of concept. Houston is the bigger floor. Megan on the bill is the city saying the con belongs there. The line will look like the people the weekend was built for.
